Ahhh the weekend

So I definitely meant to post this earlier... like 4 days ago, but it's been a crazy week. At any rate, when Nick was still in my belly Grandma was nice enough to buy him this ADORABLE Tigger robe. We tried it out this weekend and omg as you can see sooooooooooooo cute!
Nick was definitely enjoying hanging out while wearing Tigger. He is just so precious, I want to eat him up!

Later that afternoon we practiced standing. It's amazing how strong Nick is getting and how good at standing he is.
We finally caved in and bought a jumper this weekend. I was a little nervous that it would fall off the door frame, but Eric assures me that it's not going anywhere. I was skeptical, until I tried to move it... and couldn't get it off... somehow I don't think 15 pounds of Nick will be able to pull it down.
Happy almost Friday and look for more posts at the end of the weekend/early next week. So far we have no real plans for the weekend (yay!!) so I'm sure we'll have plenty of new pictures to post.

Happy Birthday, Eric!

Eric's birthday was on Friday, so Nick and I decided to get creative and take some pictures with a happy birthday sign and make a collage for Eric. While we can't post the actual collage, here are some of the best pictures from it.
It was virtually impossible to get the sign to look right and Nick to actually look at the camera... and forget smiling... that just didn't happen.

We had dinner and drinks with some friends on Saturday to celebrate Eric's birthday with adults! Thanks to everyone who came out, we all had a great time.

Happy birthday, Eric!!! All in all I would call the weekend a success, family, friends and Eric got to sleep all night while I took care of Nick. Can't wait for my birthday so that I can sleep all night and not have to worry about waking up with Nick :)

Teeth

Two weeks ago Nick cut his first two teeth! Since that time we have been trying so hard to get a picture of said teeth, and let me tell you this was NOT an easy task. Any time we pulled out the camera it's like he knew that we wanted to take a picture of those pearly whites and covered them up. Be it with his tongue, bottom lip, closed lips... it didn't matter, he was not going to let us capture it on film. However, at last we won the battle! You have to look closely, but on the bottom of his mouth you can see his two little teeth. He's growing up so fast!

Other highlights from the weekend include:

Practicing our creeping and tummy time. He's recently learned how to use his legs and arms to kind of scoot around... especially in his crib... let's just say I'm enjoying this last little bit before he's mobile.
Hanging out in the laundry basket... Daddy loves to put sweet Nick in there so he can't fall off the table...
And of course, eating. Nick LOVES yogurt and is getting so good at opening his mouth for the spoon. He's going to be a professional eater in no time!

Nicholas the First

We recently were lucky enough to be able to head down to Florida to visit Nick's oldest living relatives - his Great Great Aunt and Uncle!! Here we are on the plane ride from Memphis to Tampa. We lucked out and got to bring his car seat on the plane for the flight, which was awesome.
Nick did so well on all of the flights to and from Florida. We were prepared for the worst, but he is a road warrior and our official adventure buddy.
Nick with Great Great Uncle Jim - they were just so sweet together. It's Lys and Jim who dubbed Nick Nicholas the First. It's rather catchy and somehow he will probably be called that for years to come.
Nick playing with Uncle Peter! We were so lucky that not only did we get to see Lys and Jim, but my parents, Peter and Great Uncle Mark and Amy also made the trip down to Florida.
This random bird (okay well it's not so random, since it regularly visits Lys and Jim's backyard) came to visit as well... the bird wanted food... it rejected the lettuce and tomato that we offered first and instead prefered the meat from the club sandwich. Picky little thing.
Nick and I in our condo. Aren't we cute?!
Grandma just couldn't resist the action and wanted some Nick loving as well... but really, can you blame her?!
Nick getting a bottle from Great Great Aunt Lys. He just loved all of the Mason women. He's already a lady's man, at the age of 7 months... we are so in trouble...
Nick with Great Aunt Amy... it's a good thing he likes posing for pictures!
Hanging with Great Uncle Mark.
One of my good friends from college, Larissa, lives about 10 minutes away from Lys and Jim and we were fortunate enough to be able to have lunch with her, her boyfriend and some of her friends. It was such a treat to catch up and have a lunch sans baby!
The family (minus Eric the photographer and Nick who's out of the picture).
Hanging out in the bath tub being as cute as ever

More Florida

Nick and Grandma loved spending time together in Florida, just hanging out and playing. Poor little Nick was in the midst of cutting teeth for most of the trip and could not get enough toys, etc in his mouth.
Nick using Grandma's chin as a teething ring... I don't know how she could stand him doing that - it hurt so much (he did it to me later in the day)!!
Ready for brunch and then the beach!
Nick and Daddy at the beach!! This was Nick's first time at the beach and only his second time in the water.

He was right at home splashing in the waves and playing with the water and sand.
The Dewey family with its newest/youngest/cutest member!

We had such a great trip visiting and spending time with family. We were so lucky that Lys and Jim could host all of us and that everyone could make it down to Florida. Hopefully we can do it again next year!
