Winter Wonderland

This week we got crazy amounts of snow - more than most people have ever seen in NW Arkansas. We're guessing it was about 1/2 an inch of ice and 6 inches of snow! As you can see, Miles our cat has been hibernating inside all weekend.
After more than a year of having the crib, he finally decided to check it out and found it quite cozy. Although, he immediately left once we put Nick in it for his nap.
Daycare was closed on Friday because of the snow, so Eric stayed home with Nick and played. Here is Nick's adventure in the snow in the front yard. Yes, I realize his pants are up and I'm sure that contributed to his hating the snow.
Look at all the snow fall!
Sam and Bailey love the snow. They keep asking to go outside and play in it. It's quite the treat for them.
We decided to venture out and do some errands yesterday morning. Nick likes the snow much better from the comfort of someone's arms.

Working on getting his snow legs.
I took these pictures this morning - it was really nasty looking outside. I thought I left all of this weather behind when I moved out of New England. I guess I'll have to keep moving further south!

Little Friends

Last weekend our friends the Cox's came over for dinner with their sweet little girl Cora. She is about 4 months younger than Nick, but they are virtually the same size. Nick is such a peanut!

They are so cute together, Nick was showing off his walking skills trying to impress Cora all night.

Poppin'

Nick is finally feeling better from his bout with pneumonia and has started walking all over the place again. This morning he figured out how to use his popper that Grandma and Grandpa Muffin gave him for Christmas.
He walked allllllllllll over the house pushing it around, having a blast!
Lately, he's started sticking his tongue out while he's walking or trying to figure something out... that is clearly the Dewey coming out in him.

Yeah, he is really all about the tongue these days.

Hair Cut

On Saturday Eric took Nick to get his first all over, professional hair cut! The front of his hair had been cut about 6 weeks ago, but the back and sides desperately needed a trim.
I assumed that he would cry and be miserable the entire time. Boy was I wrong! Nick just sat there like a big boy and let the hairdresser cut his hair.
He was clearly fascinated by watching the whole thing unfold in the mirror in front of him.

And the finished product! He looks so handsome with all of his hair trimmed and it's really nice to not have crazy long hairs to try and tuck behind his ears!

Cake Party

This weekend we went with a local mom's group to Cake Party to decorate cupcakes and little cakes. Nick got to wear his very own apron, it was so tiny and so precious!
After decorating the cake boxes, we washed our hands and got ready to decorate the cupcakes. Nick is still so little that he had to sit on my lap to do it.
Nick sort of helped squeeze out some of the frosting, although he was way more interested in poking at and eating the cupcake than anything else.
Nick and his master piece!

Nick lost interest in decorating after the cupcake, perhaps it was the sugar high?! So Eric and I did some quick decorating. It's not necessarily our forte but we had fun trying.

Happy New Year

On New Years Eve we decided to go see the Lights of the Ozarks at the Fayetteville square. We hadn't been yet this year because it has been so cold, and even though it was freezing out, NYE was the last night. So we attempted to bundle Nick up... and as you can see he cried.
We went right at dusk, so it was still a little light out but all of the lights were on. Nick loved looking at all of them, and kept wanting to touch things.

He was so squirmy the whole time and kept pointing towards a new set of lights to touch and explore.

After and enjoying all of the lights and having our noses turn red, we finished the evening having dinner on the square at Oseguera - our favorite mexican restaurant. For anyone local, the Fayetteville Oseguera just opened again over near Taste of Thai and it is as good as ever. Happy 2010 everyone!
