Boo Boo

This morning Nick was standing on the stairs out back and must have lost his balance, because all of a sudden he tumbled down. Now, when I say tumble, I mean he did a somersault looking thing. Yes, it was horrifying. We rushed to his side and brought him inside. He had a cut on the side of his face but is otherwise fine. He stopped crying at the sight of the nilla wafers and gold fish.
Snacks make boo boos all better.
Now, if only I could wrap him in full body padding and bubble wrap the world around him...

Silliness

We all loved having a three day weekend. Nick was in such a good and silly mood for most of it. This is yesterday while eating lunch. He kept pulling apart his PB&J and licking off the peanut butter and jelly, so I gave him a big spoonful of peanut butter.
He was laughing and making funny faces and sounds the whole time.
Later, he decided to ride his tricycle/rocker.
He even showed off his skills - at one point he stood on the footrest and let his hands go and then later he stood on the seat!

Animal Safari

This morning we went on an adventure to the Gentry drive through animal safari, and Nick loved it! The park has a 5 mile drive where you can see all sorts of animals - everything from deer to camels to bears and ostrich. Since we never went over 5 MPH we took Nick out of his car seat and let him see the animals up close and personal.

Nick loved hanging out on our laps and looking at all the animals. He kept getting really excited, banging on the windows and saying "wow" and pointing and yelling at everything that he saw.
After the drive through portion, there is a big petting zoo part. Nick liked petting the turtle... although by the end he kept poking it's head. Poor turtle.
Little puppy dogs
They also had several kangaroos that you could pet. Nick wasn't too interested in them, but Eric and I thought they were cool.
He wasn't so impressed by the pigs and goats either. Again, we thought it was pretty neat to have them come up and eat out of our hands!

Rainy weekend

This weekend it rained, a lot. That's really all it did. When the rain finally let up yesterday afternoon, Nick wanted nothing more than to go outside. Eric, being the great dad that he is, took him. Apparently Nick decided that it would be fun to walk, splash and play in this large puddle of muddy water.
He walked in and out of it about a million times, much to my dismay. I proceeded to go back inside... too much dirt for me!

Eventually Nick ended up falling and sitting in a puddle of disgusting water. He proceed to be stripped down and given a bath. Prior to that though, he had a blast!

Acrobatics

Nick is getting so coordinated. He must have learned this latest trick at school, because we certainly didn't teach him. But he loves to touch his toes now/do some version of a baby downward facing dog.
We did a mini baby yoga session in the kitchen and Nick kept touching his toes on command. It was really impressive.
Like mommy, like baby!

Bicycle time

So a few weeks ago we got Nick this tricycle/rocker thing and we finally had a chance to take it outside and put it to good use this weekend. We tried to push Nick on it, but he preferred to have his feet on the ground moving it himself.
He loves being on his trike! There is no getting the boy off once he is on it.

Occasionally he would let us push him on it, since after all his feet can't quite reach the pedals and therefore he can't actually pedal.

Sunglasses

Eric had his sunglasses out this weekend and Nick wanted nothing more than to wear them. So we put them on and they actually stayed on his head/face.... sort of!
They would eventually slide off his face, but he insisted that we put them back on. He was all about the shades.
This is his latest "smile", yeah he's super cute!
