Animal Safari - Mt Ulla Style

So this is the last batch of our Charlotte adventure. We had all heard great things about the Lazy 5 Animal Safari and since Nick loves animals we figured we'd give it a shot. There was a large petting zoo area and then a drive through part. We took Nick out of his car seat and let him sit up front with us. He loved "driving".
The really cool thing about this animal safari is that they let you feed the animals from your car.
The animals definitely love to get up close and personal...

Nick loved to look at the baby giraffe, he was totally intrigued.
And apparently boys of all ages love to stare at the giraffe!
See the stick in Nick's hand? Um yeah he pulled that out of the llama's fur.... I wonder how long that had been in there?!

Okay so back to the car - gotta love the two cameras, I'll eventually get the order thing down.
Okay so, here comes the funny story. See the buffalo outside of the car? Yeah pay attention.
So what the picture doesn't do justice is that the buffalo is like halfway in the car trying to get to the feed bucket. He was DIRTY and SMELLY and I seriously thought that he was going to lick me. What you can't see in this picture is me freaking out. Nick was totally fine with the dirty, smelly creature that close to him and quietly sat on my lap.

This last little creature was not nearly as big and smelly as the buffalo. Needless to say, the car got a nice good cleaning when we got back!

More Charlotte

So for a week where we spent most of the time doing absolutely nothing but hanging around, we have tons of pictures! Here is Nick trying out the kiddie pool for the first time with all of the cool new outdoor and water toys from Grandma and Grandpa Muffin. They were all a huge hit!
Nick is a very spoiled little boy. In addition to all of the toys that my parents had for him, they also gave him his birthday present a few months early - this super cool tent. The whole time we were there he would run over to his tent and ask us to come in and sit next to him.
Here are the boys checking out the tent, it definitely is kid approved!

More fun with the g-parents

Grandma and Grandpa Muffin totally enjoyed playing with Nick. We had dance parties, ran around like a wild child and splashed in the kiddie pool.

Nick finally figured out how to give good hugs! We played an adorable little game where he ran around from Grandma to Daddy to me and even to the dogs giving everyone hugs.
Nick posing with Dad and Grandpa Muffin before they went golfing.
Okay so chronologically these are out of order, that's what happens when you have two different cameras. Anyway, Nick had tons of fun playing with Uncle Peter.

Nick was fascinated by the tractor and wanted to sit on it all the time. He never got to go for a ride though, because when it was turned on it was too loud and scared the poor little thing.

Like all good grandparents, my mom got Nick so many toys. He loved to play in the kiddie pool and splash wa wa (water) everywhere.

Visiting the Grandparents!

Okay so I've been super lazy with the blogging lately... but finally I have some good and interesting pictures to post! Over the Fourth of July weekend and week after we took Nick to Charlotte, NC to visit with his grandparents! Grandma and Grandpa Muffin went out of their way to make sure that he had plenty of toys, attention and things to do.
The first night we were there, we went to the club for dinner and fireworks. Well, most of us made it for the fireworks.
Uncle Peter had a good time pointing things out to sweet little Nick and educating him about all things math and science (aka mechanical engineering).

The next day the boys and Kate went to the lake to jet ski.

At dinner one night, Nick got so excited he couldn't sit in his highchair anymore and decided to stand up and show everyone what a big boy he is.

And then of course, we had to clap for ourselves because we are such a big boy :-)
