Daddy day!

Unfortunately this past weekend I had to work all day on Saturday. So Nick and Eric got to hang out all day! First, they went to the farmer's market. After that, they headed to the public library so that Nick could get his learn on.
As you can see, he's clearly fascinated by books. He loves to bang on them, rip at the pages and then throw them to the ground.
After the library, it was time for the park! Eric is a brave sole and took Nick and the two dogs with him. Aren't the leaves gorgeous?? When we first moved here I was afraid that I would miss the New England falls... but thankfully that doesn't happen.
And of course no trip to the park is complete without a ride on the swings. Nick just loves to swing. He's so laid back and happy in this picture.

More cruising

This weekend we decided to get Nick a walking toy so that he could practice and get the hang of walking on his own. To say that he loved it, is an understatement. All he wants to do now is walk around the house while holding on to his toy.

The front part has all sorts of buttons, shapes, objects and things that light up and make tons of noise. A baby's dream, a parent's worst nightmare.
Seriously, Nick won't stop smiling when he's playing with this thing, it's great. I don't think that I've ever seen him smile so much!
And for your enjoyment, a video - 13 seconds of Nick in "walking" heaven.

Baby steps

Nick has been making a TON of walking progress lately. While he can't do it by himself yet, he loves to cruise around all of our furniture and the kitchen cabinets. He also really loves holding our hands and walking all over the place. We walked laps around the kitchen this morning!
He's also started to be able to stand on his own without holding on to anyone or anything for a brief moment. I know that he will be walking (running) on his own before we know it! He's getting so big!

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we decided to visit a local pumpkin patch and introduce Nick to the "country". Before we left, I was eating an apple and Nick crawled over and demanded to try some.

He managed to scrape little bits of apple off with his four teeth! However, I don't think that he actually ate much of it since I kept finding the little pieces on his chin.
On the way to the pumpkin patch, Nick fell asleep. He was sleepy for the vast majority of our visit and as a result refused to look at the camera or even smile. Nonetheless, here is the pumpkin patch
Clearly, Nick (like his parents) prefers city life... he looks like a fish out of water on the tractor!!

And of course Nick wanted to walk around a little bit. Lately he LOVES to hold our hands and walk all over the place.

I think he might actually sort of be smiling in this picture, it's impressive, I know!

Some of the pumpkins were much larger than he is. Regardless he banged, licked and felt them all!

Choo Choo

Last fall while I was still pregnant, Chris, Amy, Jeremy and Andrew (Nick's Uncle, Aunt and cousins) gave him the wonderful wooden train. Nick is now getting to the point where he likes to push things around, so I got it out for him today.
As you can see it tastes delicious... yum?

He was definitely intrigued by all of the parts as well.
And he actually figured out how to move the train and had a ton of fun pushing/banging it all around!

Sunday Funday

We had a lazy Sunday and it was awesome! Nick slept until 7:45am, which is awesome and a new record for him. I never thought that 7:45 would be considered late... but I guess I've grown up. This morning Eric decided to put Nick in this little wagon that he was given and take him for a ride around the house.
Eric and I thought it was absolutely hilarious to have him in this mini wagon, but as you can see Nick was not amused.
Regardless, we managed to get several pictures and enjoy the moment. It ended seconds later as he freaked out over nothing... typical...
Later that afternoon we were all hanging out in the living room. Nick, as usual, crawled over to the entertainment center and pulled the clock and some of the speakers off. He loves doing this. We don't mind, except during the middle of the night when the alarm from the alarm clock goes off because he accidentally turned it on...
Finally, we captured a smile on camera! I swear he really is a happy baby and these days he babbles all the time... he just doesn't like to do it when there is a camera around.

See, he was super happy this afternoon. Just before I took this picture he was chewing on one of the dogs' toys... yummy...

Getting so big

It's crazy to realize how quickly time goes by and the fact that Nick is already 10 months old! Everyday he looks more like a little boy and less like a baby. This weekend we got Nick some new fall clothes to keep him warm. He looks so grown up!
He is fascinated by Baby Signing Time on the TV. It's the only TV we let him watch at this point and he loves it.
New outfit for school. It's crazy to me that he has jeans and shoes...
Practicing cruising while holding onto the couch and/or ottoman. It won't be long before he's actually walking.

It wasn't too long ago that he could barely reach the top of the ottoman to stand up, and now look at him... it's crazy!
