Random shots

So there's really no "theme" per se to this post. It's really just some random shots from the past week of playing and getting into things.

One of Nick's new favorite games is to take everything out of his cabinet and stack it up and toss it all around the kitchen. He can make quite the mess, but at least it buys me a few minutes to make dinner!

There is nothing better than hanging out and playing with Daddy!

Such a strong little man! He's growing so fast!

Tube Time

Poor Nick has continually had ear infections since he started at daycare. So this morning we had tubes put in his ears. He had to wear a little mini gown and it was just so cute.

Normally, Nick does not need a pacifier anymore, but we brought it out since it's not every day that he has surgery.
While waiting for the procedure to begin, we played with Nick's favorite car, read books and watched all of the exciting things happen.

It doesn't matter how young or old you are, hospital gowns are not at all flattering!

Nick did so great today, he was such a big boy. Now he hopefully won't have any more ear infections.

Little helper

On Sunday while I was at the gym, the boys decided to help out and clean the house a little bit for me. Eric started to dust a little, and Nick took over the task.

He got really into dusting and cleaned everything he could find

Including the plant! He's such a good little helper. Now, he just needs to get big enough to push around the vacuum cleaner and I'm all set!

Forkin' It

Nick is such a big boy now, that this weekend we decided to introduce him to silverware (really "baby wear" since the fork is so hard to actually pick anything up with). He picked up on the concept of putting food on the fork and then using the fork to bring it to his mouth pretty quickly.

Our favorite was when Nick decided to use the fork to bring the mac and cheese to his other hand so that he could take the food off of the fork with his other hand... creative use!

While the fork slowed down his consumption of the mac and cheese, he still ate two full bowls. I have no idea where he puts it.

Kitty Love

Our cat, Miles, does not like anyone, except for Nick. When I was pregnant with Nick he would come over and snuggle up next to me... he had NEVER done that before. So it was not at all surprising that Nick and Miles are now good buddies. Nick loves to pet Miles and Miles does really well with Nick.

Nick will follow Miles all over the house to pet him and play with him. Miles is surprisingly tolerant of this.

This is a terrible picture, but it's the best shot of Nick that I could get doing the sign for kitty. He just figured out how to do it!

Now if only we could figure out how to have Nick convince Miles to stop whining so much... oh well, at least Miles sort of likes us now.

Weekending

Like just about everyone else in the world, weekends are our favorite time! We love to just hang out around the house and snuggle and play.

Nick has recently decided that he LOVES baths (I mean loves to point where he will cry hysterically if you take him out too soon). He can splash around for hours (okay more like 20 minutes) playing and pulling all of the shampoos off of the ledge.

Of course we have to taste everything as well. Who doesn't like to ingest bath water?!

Christin and Edwin's Baby Shower!

Last weekend our friends from Little Rock were in town for their baby shower!! We are so excited to meet sweet little Caroline! Diaper cake that someone with way more art skills than I have made.

Nick thoroughly enjoyed the shower. He stuffed his face on cheese and blueberries and played with all of Milla's toys. he got a kick out of this little scooter that she has - if you hold the handles in, it goes all by itself.

Watch out, future speed demon!!

And of course, no toy is complete/fully tested until it is put in our mouth and we make sure that it tastes good... yummy?

Congratulations Christin and Edwin!! We cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl!

Nap time

There is nothing better than the weekend and nap time on the weekends! Eric was able to take a few adorable shots of Nick during one of his naps.

He is just so precious when he's asleep!
